10 Zen Questions With Simran Khosla A.K.A. @buttlikeanapricot

Written by Keeping Zen

•

Simran Khosla, known on Instagram as @buttlikeanapricot, who joined the fitness wagon after a bout of depression in 2015, from which her only respite had been working out, is now an ambassador for promoting wellness amongst millennials. She does so by way of her dedicated routines, diets, and unbelievable results. She credits the fit lifestyle she chose for herself for her newfound enthusiasm and zest for life, and tells us, ‘helping others with their health is a tough and selfless job but I guess it gives me happiness.’ Khosla practices what she preaches, urging people to add a portion of green in every meal they take.

Simran left her nine-to-five job to do what she loves, and it has shaped her life in the best way possible. She shares with us in 10 Zen Questions, what her daily routine, vices, and her favourite things are… and a lot more!

Take us through your morning routine

The first thing that I do in the morning is I pray to God for a beautiful and healthy day. And then, I have a litre of water with or without lemon. I am following this routine for the past 4 years and my skin feels so good.

One workout / exercise I hate

I think hate is a very strong word but I have never been too comfortable with yoga. I always like high intensity workouts or weight training. So yoga is one thing I couldn’t get used to.

And one I love

Deadlifts are my personal favourite.

Favourite health food

I love grilled chicken and vegetables.

Favourite cheat meal

Butter chicken and lachha paranthas.

What I do to de-stress

I honestly go to the gym or watch a movie.

One health fad that makes me giggle

That milk gives us calcium. It’s a fad. Please don't believe it.

One health trend I want to / have already tried

I think the only trend I want to follow all my life is eating a balanced diet. I can’t do fancy diets  at all.

My vices

I would have if I had any. I don’t get addicted to anything in life. That’s a sign of being healthy too. Even if I drink wine, I am in control . Just a glass, may be. Once in 3-4 months.

One thing I always do before I go to bed

I drink a glass of water.
