Alia Bhatt’s New Fitness Routine Is A Life Lesson In Disguise

Bollywood has a funny way of inspiring me. From the sappy, cheeky romance movies, to the ones that give out a social message, Bollywood manages to have an impact on me, on screen and off screen. In the same vein, when I came across this post by Soh Fit, it triggered  a spiral of thoughts after reading the caption. 

 

There’s something about this one. Quite the example for any person out there. Alia Bhatt just never gives up and she is never afraid to try something new. For someone who wasn’t lifting weights 3 months back to (a) doing her first dumbbell power snatch yesterday and doing it pretty well; and (b) deadlifting 60 kgs  - you’ve been quite the rock star student," Bhatt's trainer, Sohrab Khushrushahi, writes of her. 

And, just like that, Bhatt’s new fitness routine became a life lesson we all can learn from.They say you can never grow while you’re still in your comfort zone. The moment we stop pushing ourselves, testing ourselves against our own limits, we invite complacency in our life.

But, of course, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone doesn’t come easy, and it didn’t come easy for the Gully Boy actress either. When Alia joined the industry, she had to shed 16 kilos before she could star in her debut film. She did that in just three months! Proving her grit one more time, never having done weights training, she did not shy away from accepting the challenge, and is not only managing to do it well, but taking it all in her stride.

Over a period of time, people tend to settle into a daily routine, and before they realise, they’re living the same day on repeat, all day, every day. However, it is moments like these that need to be challenged with a desire to break from the ordinary, and do what we are capable of. At the end of the day, it’s not just about lifting weights in the gym, but about lifting our spirits outside too, and living our lives to the fullest.

Hard work, persistence, and confidence is what we need to become the best versions of ourselves. Be it in the gym, at your work or at your home with your family. Just  get out there and give it your all, and the rest will follow.
